Dear LSU Families,
No quality defines our Tiger family quite like leadership.
Our students lead in the classroom, not just by winning nationally competitive scholarships, but by serving as peer mentors and supplemental instructors so their peers succeed, too.
They lead in the community, providing nearly 100,000 hours of service every year to the Baton Rouge area alone, helping local schools, churches, and families.
They lead in the laboratory, supporting internationally renowned faculty in the pursuit of curing chronic disease, discovering new forms of energy, developing new techniques to increase water and air quality at home and around the world, and everything in between.
And they lead after graduation, where they go on to secure careers at some of the most recognizable companies on earth and earn salaries well above the national average.
I know it’s just the beginning of the semester, but take a moment to encourage your Tiger to find the leader inside, whether through joining a student organization or just by asking a question in class. Every step takes them closer to the ultimate goal of graduation.
Thank you for trusting us with your Tiger.
Sincerely,
F. King Alexander
LSU President
