New Year, New NAR Policy UpdatesEach year brings at least a few changes to various NAR policies, and 2022 introduces several important changes to the Professional Standards and MLS policies that you'll need to know about. In a recent PAR Just Listed blog post, Hank Lerner, PAR chief legal officer, outlines the changes.

2022 Leadership Installation PostponedThroughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our top priority has been the well-being of our members, staff and event attendees. We have been closely monitoring the current situation, and, after much consideration, we decided to postpone the Board of Directors Installation event to a later date. As soon as the transmission of the virus has subsided, we will reschedule the event at the same location, with the same fanfare and festivities to celebrate and honor our board. Thank you for understanding.

Fraud Alert: Insurance Calls and Texts NOT from NARThe Association has been made aware of a resurgence of fraudulent contact from third parties claiming to represent "NAR Health Insurance." Reminder: Norristown Lead Paint Inspection Ordinance is in Effect
Norristown Municipal Council unanimously passed an ordinance requiring lead paint testing for all property resales and rental licenses beginning on January 1. The Dec. 6 news brief in the Suburban Realtors® Alliance archive provides some context. The Alliance has reached out several times to Norristown for specific guidelines to pass on to Realtors® for the lead paint testing program. On January 3, Norristown officials confirmed that the lead paint inspection is required as of January 1 and indicated they plan to provide an informational document for the process by the end of the month. In the meantime, inquiries can be sent directly to Amrinder Singh, director of Norristown's code enforcement department: ASingh@norristown.org or 610-292-8096.
