Beyond Sacred: Voices of Muslim Identity is an interview-based theatre production by Ping Chong + Company and LaGuardia Performing Arts Center exploring the diverse experiences of Muslim communities within New York City. The five young participants in Beyond Sacred vary in many ways, but share the common experience of coming of age in a post-9/11 New York City.

Announcing DEVISINGHUB
a new workshop opportunity with Ping Chong + Company
The DEVISINGHUB at Ping Chong + Company is a space of dynamic creative process, performative inquiry, collaborative exploration, and an incubator for new, innovative performance works.
Creators gather here as collaborators; we develop new works in progress; we explore the contemporary landscape of devised performance practice; we offer each other supportive critique; and we experiment with and articulate processes for making new work.
The DEVISINGHUB is led by Ping Chong + Company Collaborator and Associate Artist Ryan Conarro. Participating artists convene Monday and Thursday evenings over the course of 5 weeks. The HUB will include a special session with Ping Chong.
For the finale session at the HUB, all participants will share their works in progress, and we’ll invite a number of downtown venues and artistic leaders to experience the work and meet the participating artists.
WHEN: Monday & Thursday evenings, 6:30-9:30pm
November 2nd to December 10th (no meetings Nov 26th & 30th)

WHERE: LaMaMa’s Great Jones Studios, 47 Great Jones Street
