Future of Intelligence Convening Public Keynote Speaker Announced -- N. Katherine Hayles | October 22nd 4-5 p.m. | Register now to attend this keynote
As AI becomes increasingly ubiquitous, what do we mean by intelligence—and how is it being reshaped in contemporary life? The Future of Intelligence Convening will bring approximately leading thinkers and cross-disciplinary scholars to San José State University for a highly interactive, discussion-driven day. The convening will include invitation-only discussions and a public keynote address by distinguished scholar N. Katherine Hayles. N. Katherine Hayles is an internationally recognized scholar whose work has shaped contemporary conversations about cognition, media, technology and technogenesis. Four SJSU faculty projects (out of 63 faculty-led projects across the CSU) were awarded CSU Artificial Intelligence Educational Innovations Challenge grants in July 2025. Opportunity for Students: Tenth Annual National Cyber and AI Virtual Career Fair | September 22 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. PDT (Register by September 21st)
At this event, students can meet recruiters and hiring managers from top organizations looking for the next generation of cyber and AI talent. This annual career fair is only open to students enrolled in CAE designated institutions (SJSU is one of these). Students must register by Monday, September 21 using their sjsu.edu email. Their resume must be uploaded at the time of registration.

BayGeo/SJSU 2026 GeoEducation Summit IX | September 11 | SJSU Campus
The event is co-hosted by SJSU's Spatial Analytics and Visualization Institute (SAVI) and will be held at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. Now in its ninth year, this annual Summit brings together educators, researchers, students, industry professionals, and Bay Area GIS experts for a full day of learning, research sharing, and community building around geospatial education and technology. The Summit’s audience is educators, practitioners, and emerging professionals. Geospatial technology and AI are increasingly intertwined; from spatial data analysis to machine learning-powered mapping tools.
