Highlights from the NAM President's Dinner & MFN's Annual Meeting

The Nashville Academy of Medicine President's Dinner and Medical Foundation of Nashville Annual Meeting brought together physicians, residents, students, and community leaders to celebrate leadership and progress. NAM installed Christin Giordano McAuliffe, MD, as its 2026 President and recognized the accomplishments of 2025. 
The evening welcomed Dr. James McKenzie and Dr. Kevin Smith to the NAM Board, and we honored several former NAM presidents in attendance. In partnership with MFN, NAM announced the launch of the WELL Committee in 2026, focused on physician Well-Being, Engagement, Leadership, and Legislative Advocacy. 
MFN also acknowledged it's Board of Directors, celebrated Project Access's 20th anniversary providing over 117,000 care coordination encounters and $8.1 million in donated healthcare last year and marked the launch of a new MFN website

TMA Leadership Elections

The 2026 TMA leadership elections began on February 1 and voting will continue through February 28 at 5 pm CT.
  • Information about candidates and elections: The latest issue of Topline from TMA included a voter’s guide with information on each candidate. Information about this year’s leadership elections is also available at tnmed.org/elections.
  • Voting Email: TMA sent voting information by email from communications@tnmed.org to all eligible voters on Feb. 1. Each personalized email included the member’s Unique Voter Number needed to access the voting platform. The communication included a personalized link to the voting ballot. Note: Physicians are not required to log in to the website to vote but are asked to supply their Unique Voter Number to access the ballot.
Trey Lee, MD is running for TMA President-Elect and Nicole Schlechter, MD is the Board of Trustees nominee for Region 4. We encourage you to review the candidate profiles and make your voice heard.

Sign Up for Doctor of the Day

TMA works with the Tennessee General Assembly each legislative session to provide volunteer physicians who serve the medical needs of lawmakers and their staff.
Doctor of the Day volunteers spend one day in Nashville and have the unique opportunity to interact with legislators on the House and Senate floors, attend committee meetings and get a first-hand look at the legislative process, while giving something back to the public servants who support physicians' issues.

Membership Renewals

Membership renewal for 2026 is now underway! Individual members have recieved a joint NAM/ TMA invoice mailed or emailed from TMA, while group members have received invoices from NAM. 
Your dues support all of our programming and events at NAM, as well as TMA's advocacy and governmental affairs work.
