In the late 1990s, Bob Klingle lead what was then NBC affiliate WKJG (Channel 33, Fort Wayne) as their GM, before exiting for WHAS-TV in Louisville, Kentucky. Sad news to report, as Mr. Klingle died last Monday in Scottsdale, Arizona, after battling prostate cancer. Mr. Klingle was 62.

This spring, the Klingle family will hold a celebration of life in Louisville.
Northcentral
Sinclair Broadcasting's CBS affiliate/WSBT-TV (Channel 22, South Bend) welcomes Jade Jackson as a reporter. Ms. Jackson graduated from the University of North Texas.
Where Are They Now? Former WSBT-TV reporter Cassidy Williams recently joined
WITI-TV ("FOX 6") in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Southwest
Former Bayou City Broadcasting CBS and FOX affiliates WEVV-TV (CBS on 44.1, FOX on 44.2) News Director Warren Korff joins as the Assignment Manager at crosstown Nexstar ABC affiliate WEHT-TV (Channel 25, Evansville) and Mission Broadcasting's CW affiliate WTVW (Channel 7, Evansville). Mr. Korff worked at WEHT/WTVW until joining WEVV, to lead their local news operation. WEVV had no local news from mid-2001 until 2015.
Succeeding Warren Korff in the News Director role at WEVV will be another Warren: Warren Stewart. Mr. Stewart last worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma (News Director,
KJRH-TV), along with prior stops in Hartford, Connecticut, Columbus, Ohio, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Cleveland, Ohio.
Before we leave WEVV, one of their sports anchor/reporters (Nick Ruffolo) and evening news producer Jessica Dixon both exit WEVV.

January 21: In 1983, 90.3fm in Owensboro, Kentucky signed on as WKWC,
and remains so today. In 2011, WRTV-TV/Indianapolis engineer Ron Estep dies. Age 59.
January 22: In 1999, Fort Wayne's WJFX (107.9fm, New Haven)
reimages as "Hot 107.9." In 2000, WLAB (88.3fm, Fort Wayne) founder Adolph F. "Deac" Dietrich dies. Age 82.
January 23: In 1964, 96.7fm in LaPorte signed on as WLOI-FM. Today, it's WCOE.
January 24: In 1924, 1280am in Fort Wayne signs on as WCWK for owner

January 26: In 1993, former WOWO DJ Manthis Manchikes ("Pete Mathews") passed away. Age 71. In 1998, New owners Moody Radio (owned and operated by Moody Global Ministries) purchased WHUT(AM)/WXXP-FM and flipped formats to Christian teaching and talk, and call letters to WGNR(AM)/WGNR-FM.

Promotions Director – WAJI, WLDE, WAJI-HD2, Fort Wayne, IN
The Promotions Director will work with programming, digital and sales departments to develop and execute successful promotional campaigns; build and maintain relationships with advertisers, and promotional partners; serve as the liaison representing the station and its promotional opportunities. This is a position that will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
Develop creative and innovative promotional events and campaigns
Represent stations brands including Majic 95.1, Fun 101.7 and ALT 99.5, Fort Wayne, IN
Assist Sales in creating revenue generating opportunities
Oversee and execute all on site station promotional events
Lead the Promotions department from ideas to promotion execution
Work closely with Operations Manager as well as the management team
Conduct and direct weekly promotions meeting
Oversee all contest prizes and contest rules with assistance from management
Database maintenance
Qualifications:
Ability to effectively manage and develop employees in a very busy, and creative environment
Familiarity with Fort Wayne and Northeast IN area helpful, but not required
Working knowledge and understanding of Radio Programming & Sales, specifically individual formats and their target audiences
Ability to assist in maximizing promotional revenue opportunities
Excellent writing/editing and computer skills, including Power Point and Photoshop
Experience in promotions, marketing, radio or related industry preferred
Understanding of digital marketing & promotion and social media platforms
Leadership and Management skills helpful
Education: College education preferred, but not required
Must have valid driver’s license, and you will be required to pass a background check.

44News (WEVV-TV) in Evansville, Indiana, is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist/Weekday Reporter.
The successful candidate will be familiar with weather terminology and have the ability to put together and deliver a clear, understandable, and accurate weather forecast. That person will also be able to act as a general assignment reporter/MMJ which includes the ability to take complex issues and situations and explain them in clear, concise, and accurate story form; enterprise stories; cultivate sources; and communicate effectively in both the spoken and written word.
Familiarity with Edius or similar editing software, Inception or similar newsroom computer system, and Baron or a similar newsroom weather system is necessary. The ability to shoot and edit video is also a must.
