Dear Parents,
RE: Homework challenges - Here are some ideas that may help
In some situations, homework can cause more headaches for parents than it does for children. Some parents worry because their children don’t seem to do enough while others are concerned because they do too much. But for many parents, homework is that time of the day when they routinely harass and hassle their child to JUST DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

Mrs. Friedland's 5th grade students have been earning Fugios all quarter for having a classroom job, turning in all assignments on time, and displaying behavior reflective of our core values at LCA.
The Fugio was a real pewter coin created by Benjamin Franklin at the request of the second Continental Congress. The name Fugio refers to "time flies" in Latin and the motto on the coin was "Mind Your Business." It is a reminder for students to use their time wisely.
Fugio sales are a time for students to use their hard-earned Fugios and grow their wealth by selling items to classmates.

Our after school Chess Club students are having a blast learning the game through problem solving and critical thinking skills. Way to go Eagles!

Middle and High School Drama students did a Shadow Puppetry workshop with guest artist Mrs. Anderson. Students built their own shadow puppets, learned how to operate them, explored some historical and creative shadow puppetry traditions, and performed scenes for their classmates using their puppets. The mix of visual art, acting skill, and technical performance were a hit with students. What a fun week!
