Virginia pay transparency
requirements take effect on July 1 |
Beginning Wednesday, July 1, Virginia employers will be required to include wage or salary ranges in job postings as part of new pay transparency legislation.
The law also prohibits employers from requesting an applicant’s salary history during the recruitment and hiring process. These changes are intended to promote transparency, support equitable hiring practices and ensure compensation decisions are based on the position's responsibilities and the candidate's qualifications.
Radford University’s Department of Human Resources is working with departments across campus to implement these requirements and will provide additional guidance and resources in the coming weeks.
