Exhibition Opening: “Looking at the Stars”: Irish Art at the University of Notre Dame

The Snite Museum of Art presents an exhibition featuring Irish artists. A public, free reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 6 at the museum.

Street Soccer: Meet the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams

Kick off the soccer season this weekend! Parking will be available in the Baseball and Joyce Lots. Kids will have the opportunity to participate in drills led by student-athletes and coaches from each team. The event will also include a face painter, inflatables and treats for the kids. Kona Ice will be available to purchase. Free admission.

Computer Vision Research Lab Opportunity

CVRL needs subjects for contactless fingerprint research who will come to two 20-25 minute appointments at least one week apart. You are invited to participate in a research study investigating the links between feelings, moods and personality traits. Safety, Parking and Traffic

Heavy Traffic

On Saturday, Aug. 17, there is an invitation-only football practice in Notre Dame Stadium. We expect a small- to medium-size crowd so there will be no major road closures, but heavy traffic on campus can be expected from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for this event, particularly in the southern campus lots and roadways.

Parenting, married and pregnant students and their families are invited to the Family Resource Center’s every-other-week playtime event. The Aug. 15 playtime is at a remote location — the ND Playground east of DPAC. Snacks and water will be provided. In case of inclement weather, this event is canceled.

Opening of the Academic Year Mass and Picnic

Students, faculty, staff and their families are invited to mark the opening of the 2019-20 academic year with Mass in the Purcell Pavilion of the Joyce Center. Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., University president, will serve as presider and homilist. A picnic will follow in Notre Dame Stadium. Dining halls will be closed for the occasion.
