Miriam Aligns Her Chakras and Business Goals with Operation HOPE’s Help

Miriam Frost opened her business, Stellar Power Yoga, to help people feel better mentally, physically, and emotionally. She felt an immense sense of joy and gratitude from the impact that she was making in the lives others. Yet, she felt that there was still room for growth and improvement with her business model. She joined Operation HOPE's Entrepreneurship Training Program (ETP) to learn how to take her business to the next level. Her small business coach, Andrea, introduced her to new business building strategies and marketing plans which would help her increase her visibility and efficiency. Beyond the business skills, she gained a valuable community of other like-minded entrepreneurs that continue to encourage and support her to this day.

How Technology Can Help Black and Minority-Owned Businesses Recover

The pandemic has likely altered the way that we all shop and conduct business forever. This shift has put pressure on small businesses to pivot their business model to keep up with the times and current events.

Nerd Wallet explored how minority-owned businesses could leverage technology to help them bounce back from last year's economic downturn. HOPE's 1 Million Black Businesses initiative, 1MBB, was featured in the article and highlighted how we're leveraging our partnership with Shopify to help Black-owned businesses develop a web presence, which will be crucial for their businesses growth and success now and in the future.

Addressing the National Hope Deficit

This week, Chairman Bryant joined Stephanie Ruhle on MSNBC to discuss many employers' inability to fill job vacancies for their businesses. Many have argued that the weekly supplemental $300 in federal unemployment benefits have stripped away potential employees' incentive for returning to work. Chairman Bryant, however, suggests that there is simply a deficit in hope and many Americans are reassessing what they'll accept as a dignified wage in exchange for their work.
