| Master Association Draft Budget
The 2017 Draft Budget for the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association will be discussed at the MA Board meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ranch House.

| Winter Break Camp Registration Starts Tuesday
The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District will offer school-age camp at the Ranch House over the winter break. Camp for preschool-age children will be held at the Community Center. Public registration opens Tuesday!

| Committee Applications Due Nov. 22The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association is now accepting applications for prospective new committee members for 2017 for the following committees: Architectural, Community Planning, Covenant Control, Election, Historical Society, Open Space, and Parks Advisory. A description of each committee and an application are available on the Committees & Task Forces page. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Nov. 22.

You may have seen the utility trucks on Ken Caryl Ave. across from the Equestrian Center in the Valley. Verizon is installing new fiber optic lines for a cell tower in the Foothills.

| 2016 Maintain, Don’t Gain ChallengeThe average adult will gain five to seven pounds during the holiday season. The goal of the 2016 Maintain, Don’t Gain Challenge is to help participants avoid weight gain by encouraging weight maintenance and healthy decisions. The program runs Dec. 5 to Jan. 6, and the cost is $10 for residents or $15 for non-residents. For more information, see our Fitness & Wellness page.

Everyone is invited to the Ranch House Nov. 19 for the 2nd annual Ken-Caryl Holiday Gift & Craft Bazaar coordinated by the Ken-Caryl Community Network. This year will be TWICE as large with 40 vendors! What a wonderful way to support local businesses and get a jump on your holiday shopping! In addition to shopping, there will be hot cocoa, cookies, door prizes and a holiday craft for the kids.

| Trash Delay Thanksgiving Day
This is a reminder from the Ken-Caryl Ranch trash service provider, Waste Connections, that Thanksgiving is an observed holiday. If your normal trash day is Thursday, your trash and recycling service will be on Friday that week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday service will stay on the normal schedule.

| Christmas Tree Sale Dec. 3 The annual Christmas Tree Sale will be held at Dakota Lodge on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 8-10 a.m. A limited number of trees cut from forest management areas will be available to the public, on a first come, first served basis. Rangers are requesting donations in exchange for the trees, and the donations will be used to offset expenses in the open space program. Mainly Douglas Firs and some Ponderosa Pines will be cut two weeks before the sale, so they will be very fresh and fragrant. These trees are not bushy and manicured like those found on Christmas tree lots. The Rangers will harvest small-diameter trees in the open space to improve wildlife habitat and overall forest health. The removal of the small trees reduces overcrowding and eliminates ladder fuels that can carry fire into a forest canopy. | WestConnect Planning Open House at Ranch HouseThe Colorado Department of Transportation and the WestConnect Coalition are conducting a Planning and Environmental Linkages study to evaluate and develop short-term and long-term transportation alternatives and to identify proposed improvements along C-470 between Kipling Street and Interstate 70 and along the US 6/CO 93 corridor between Golden and Boulder. There will be a local open house to get feedback:
