From the Ranch House

Featured Photo
There is nothing like fall in Colorado. Shades of yellow, orange and red are prominent in trees across the Valley. We would like to thank RVR resident, Wolf Gensch, for submitting the two brilliant pictures featured in this week's mailing. Wolf writes, "This picture was taken on Friday, Oct. 7. It is up on Hay Park 4.2 miles up (this is the view towards Capitol Peak and Mount Daly). It is one of our favorite hikes, we do it twice a year, once in June and then in October after the first snow and with the leaves.
We'd like to feature your picture in an upcoming newsletter. If you're interested in having your photo highlighted in the weekly news, please submit images to: jessica.hennessy@rvrma.org.

Please feel free to contact our offices with any questions at 970.963.6300. We thank you in advance for taking the time to answer a few important questions.

Green Tip
Please enjoy the following eco-friendly tidbit brought to you by Friends of the Environment:
Wondering how to reduce your environmental impact this Halloween? Avoid costumes that are mostly cheap plastic that will only be used once and discarded. Plan ahead and visit thrift stores for key elements to make your own costumes. You can also plan costume swaps with friends, to exchange costumes that your kids have become bored with or have outgrown. What about decorations? Nature makes a great line of non-toxic, fully compostable Halloween decorations in the form of pumpkins and other decorative gourds along with hay bales, reeds, and ornamental corn. So let's make Halloween a little less scary for the planet this year.
Trespassing on Construction Sites
With all of the building happening in RVR, we know many of you are curious about what is going on behind the construction fence. As a kind reminder, these sites are private property and entering without permission is considered trespassing. These construction zones can also be a high risk setting to explore. Please be courteous of  your neighbors, respect their property, and do not trespass.
