It's Respiratory Illness Season. Listen Up!

Let's Advocate For
Our Region In Santa Fe!

It is time once again to gather in our state's capital to advocate on behalf of our beloved Mesilla Valley Region for issues important to us – ranging from healthcare to public safety to economic development. At MMC, we are very proud to once again be a platinum sponsor for this annual Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce event!
We look forward to seeing many of you in Santa Fe the weekend of January 24th! Please stop by and say "hello." Let's make an impactful difference together!
As the leader in advanced cardiology care for Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico, we provide quality heart care, close to home, when you need it most. And we are thrilled to announce the arrival of two additional highly trained physicians to our team to expand our services in the area of heart surgery and electrophysiology.
Kalyan Vunnamadala, MD: Dr. Vunnamadala is a board-certified, highly experienced
heart-lung-chest surgeon, specializing in heart valve repair and replacement (TAVR and Mitraclip™), congenital heart disorders, heart trauma surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, vascular surgery and heart ablation procedures to treat chronic AFib.
James Storey, MD, FACC, FHRS: Dr. Storey is a highly experienced cardiac electrophysiologist and cardiologist who is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He specializes in heart rhythm disorders, atrial fibrillation and treatments such as ablations or pacemaker implantations. A proud veteran, Dr. Storey was an active duty member of the United States Navy Medical Corps from 1993 to 2006 including time spent in the Persian Gulf as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Please join us in welcoming these physicians to Memorial and our community. Make sure to be on the lookout for several educational and community events in February as we will celebrate American Heart Month!

Prioritize Your Health In The New Year:
What Annual Blood Work Can Reveal

Your yearly blood work gives your provider information they can’t see during a physical exam, sometimes before you notice any symptoms at all. Blood work isn’t only for sick visits – routine lab work plays a key role in preventive care and long-term health. These standard tests offer insight into how well your organs are functioning, and where small changes today could prevent bigger problems tomorrow.

Blood work shows where your health stands at a specific point in time using real data. Even more important, it allows your provider to compare results year over year. Small shifts in your labs can point to issues that aren’t causing symptoms yet.

Conditions like heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and some vitamin deficiencies can develop quietly – By the time symptoms show up, damage may already be underway. Catching these changes early can give you and your provider more options for managing them, when lifestyle changes or simple treatments can make a meaningful difference.
