Keeping Toros Informed

To keep the CSUDH community up to date with the latest news and developments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the spring semester and campus operations, this newsletter will be providing routine updates throughout the crisis.

New Testing Program

CSUDH has implemented a new COVID-19 surveillance (or repeat) testing program. FREE drive-thru testing will be every Wednesday for eligible asymptomatic students, faculty, and staff.

Weekly testing is mandatory for:

Students in University Housing
Students taking face-to-face classes

Weekly COVID-19 testing is strongly encouraged for:

Faculty teaching face-to-face classes
Essential/sustained staff approved to work on campus

Students and faculty who are eligible for testing will be emailed a link to schedule an appointment.

Classes 100% Virtual Until February

Reminder: With COVID-19 cases surging throughout L.A. County, the first two weeks of the Spring 2021 semester (from January 25 - February 7) will be exclusively virtual. Approved in-person classes will meet face-to-face starting February 8. This is subject to change per state and local guidelines.

Certain off-site clinical placement assignments that start earlier than January 25 may resume sooner. Students should verify meeting locations with their professors.

Vaccine Information

CSUDH falls under the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's vaccination distribution. According to their tiered distribution plan, those in education — which includes faculty, students, and staff — will be eligible for vaccines beginning sometime in February.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 20, individuals 65 years old and older living in LA County are eligible for vaccination. To sign up or for more information, visit the LA County COVID-19 Vaccine website.

When the CSUDH campus community becomes eligible for vaccine distribution, more details will be provided. Information specific to the campus will be updated on csudh.edu/together/vaccine.

As a reminder: If you have contracted COVID-19, whether you have been on campus or not, please report your case to the confidential hotline at (310) 243-2076.

Symptom Self-Screening Tool

All students and employees who need to come to campus are required to conduct a self-screening for symptoms of COVID-19. A self-screening app is available in the iToros app.
