Jacklyn Kohon received a faculty development grant to develop a research proposal on disaster preparedness in long-term care communities in Oregon. The proposal, developed in collaboration with Paula Carder, Ozcan Tunaliler, and Sarah Dys, was recently submitted to Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) for possible funding from the Quality Care Fund for Long-Term Care Facilities.

Paula Carder, in partnership with Brown University was awarded a grant from the National Institute on Aging. The project is called Private Equity Expansion in Assisted Living: Implications for Dementia Care. The objectives of this study are to understand the assisted living providers that private equity firms invest in and how different kinds of private equity acquisitions impact the composition of residents and residents’ outcomes.
