Dear Faculty:

Here is an update related to our 2023 Summer Commencement. As a reminder, we will be holding all ceremonies in First National Bank Arena going forward. We have also brought back our faculty processional, so be sure to wear your regalia and arrive early to line up.

The ceremony will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. at First National Bank Arena, with doors opening 90 minutes before the event.  Be sure to arrive at least 45 minutes in advance to get through security and line up for the processional. Remember that traffic will be heavy, please plan accordingly. 

All faculty will convene in the Hames rooms on the lower level of FNBA for lineup. This year, faculty members will be part of a student celebration as students exit the stage. Deans have appointed a faculty marshal who will help orchestrate faculty involvement in a congratulatory receiving line. Your college marshal will provide more details. Faculty attendance and academic regalia is an expectation for commencement.

Faculty should park in lots closest to the blue entrance of First National Bank Arena. You must present your “Faculty” hang tag issued by our office in order to be granted access to these lots. Hang tags may be picked up in the Academic Affairs office, room 202 in the Administration Building. As a reminder, there is no parking on grass surfaces on campus.  

Faculty should enter the arena through the blue entrance.  

Please note that the university’s clear bag policy will be enforced.
