On Thursday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. CST, all NAM members and TMA members are invited to hear from Dr. Niran Al-Agba and Dr. Rebekah Bernard, authors of the book "Patients at Risk: The Rise of the Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant in Healthcare."
While Scope of Practice battles continue every year, Tennessee physicians will find this meeting both timely and insightful.

"Patients at Risk" exposes the ongoing political maneuverings and corporate agendas that lead to the replacement of qualified medical professionals by lesser-trained practitioners/extenders. Our guests will discuss actual cases they researched, and lessons they learned about improving public and political input on the subject. Pre-registration for this meeting is required, but attendance is free. Click here to register.

| Thanks to Our 1,500+ Volunteers! | |
|
During National Volunteer Month, we want to send our heartfelt thanks to our physician volunteers! Physicians support our mission by serving on the Academy and Medical Foundation Boards, committees and work groups, as delegates to the TMA House of Delegates, and by supporting our collective efforts to overcome COVID-19.
More than 1,500 physicians have volunteered through Project Access Nashville to provide care to our low-income, uninsured neighbors. Click here to learn about becoming a physician volunteer. Your efforts save lives and make Tennessee a great place to practice medicine. THANK YOU!

| TMA Alliance Membership and 2021 Annual Meeting | |
NAM encourages the spouses of our members to get involved with the Tennessee Medical Association Alliance (TMAA). The TMA Alliance is an affiliate organization for spouses of TMA member physicians. Its mission is to partner with physicians to promote the health of Tennessee and to support the Family of Medicine. Local physician spouses from the Nashville area are partnering with NAM to support our upcoming 200th Anniversary and silent auction, and we appreciate the many years of partnership we have had with alliance members.
- Join today – Click here for an application and information about joining the TMA Alliance.
- The TMAA will hold its annual meeting in person on April 30, 2021, at an outdoor location in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Click this link or the image below for details.
