| Dear Red Wolves Students:
Over the past weeks, I have heard from many A-State students who were interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination once they became eligible. As you may know, Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Tuesday that he was extending coronavirus vaccination eligibility to the 1-C priority group, which includes individuals who live in congregate settings (including residence halls) and people aged 16 to 64 who have underlying health conditions.
Since that announcement, A-State’s Emergency Operations Center has been working with our pharmacy partner to host three vaccination clinics on our campus for our students. The first two clinics will be in the lobbies of University Hall and Arkansas Hall to make it easier for the residents of those buildings and the residents of halls nearby to receive their first dose of the vaccine. The third clinic will be in Centennial Hall in the Reng Student Union for any eligible student who could not attend the U-Hall and A-Hall clinics.
To prepare for the clinics, our pharmacy partner will need know how many students will want to receive the vaccine. To make each clinic operate as efficiently as possible, we have limited the total number of vaccination slots for each clinic. Please click on the buttons below to start the registration process. Please make sure to select a date and time that works for your schedule. We do not want any doses wasted.

| Our process requires that you bring your student ID to the clinic, and that you continue to observe our mask and distancing requirements to protect your fellow students and our volunteers.
We will be administering the Pfizer vaccine, which will require a second dose three weeks later: U-Hall, April 20; A-Hall, April 21; and Centennial, April 22 (all at the same times).
We would love to be able to host these clinics next week, but with Spring Break starting Monday, we did not want to miss any students who may not be on-campus those days. If a sufficient proportion of our students receive the vaccine, our EOC will consider modifications of our Return to Learn plans in late April. Until that time, we will continue to follow R2L and ask that everyone continue to follow the 3W’s: wear masks, watch your distance, and wash your hands frequently. While the number of cases on campus and across the state has decreased, we must remain vigilant to limit the spread – especially after everyone returns from Spring Break.
As a reminder, anyone who is currently eligible to get vaccinated can do so by scheduling an appointment with a local pharmacy. The new eligibility rubric has resulted in many students being eligible even if they don’t live on campus (e.g., those who work in restaurants or food service, front-line workers in banking, transportation workers, delivery workers, and other essential services areas). If you want to make your own arrangements now, visit the Arkansas Department of Health’s vaccination locator website. Many local pharmacies and healthcare providers in the Jonesboro area have appointments available.
When news of the first vaccines first arrived, we were hopeful that “sometime” in 2021, our entire Red Wolves pack – students, faculty, and staff – would have the opportunity to receive it. Our best hope was that we might be able to make that happen by the summer (some early estimates were that students would be vaccinated sometime next fall). Now, hope is not a strategy, but faith in that hope (combined with the diligent effort of our staff members, our volunteers, scientists in the pharmaceutical industry, and government health officials) have exceeded our hopes. I don’t think even the most optimistic of us believed in January that all interested A-State employees would be vaccinated before March, or that most of our interested students would be vaccinated before May. It is simply remarkable.
And to that – and those who have made it happen – I say the most enthusiastic...
Wolves Up!
