Transitioning to Electronic Identification, what Wisconsin cattle producers need to know.
The University of WI-Madison Division of Extension invites cattle producers and allied industry to a virtual meeting to discuss the transition to using electronic identification (EID) for disease traceability with Gretchen May, DVM, Veterinary Program Manager - Division of Animal Health, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Cattle producers will be able to ask questions about EID tags and the requirements for using them that go into effect on November 5, 2024. Julie Sweney, Executive Director of the WI Livestock Identification Consortium will also discuss how premises registration and official identification work together to aid disease traceability in the event of an animal disease impacting Wisconsin.
This one-hour virtual meeting occurs on Wednesday evening, October 30, 2024, at 7 pm CST.
