Metro New Orleans middle school students recently spent four days exploring engineering topics and creating projects to demonstrate those concepts as part of the University of New Orleans Robotic Eel Camp. The camp, also known as PrivatEEL Camp, is in its fifth year.

Engineering Students Shoot For the Stars |
The Savoie College of Engineering has a new student group focused on design competitions for rockets–NOLA Rocketry. The group aims to compete in the prestigious NASA Student-Launch Challenge. They're attracting students from civil, mechanical and electrical engineering plus computer science. Currently, more than 30 students are involved.

University of New Orleans professor Lothar Birk is the 2024 recipient of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers’ William H. Webb Medal for outstanding contributions to education in naval architecture, marine or ocean engineering.
