Celebrate your colleagues with an Excellence Award nomination
There’s still time to nominate your colleagues for recognition in the PSU Excellence Awards. If you missed last week’s deadline to submit a cover page, you can still get your nominee included by submitting a cover page ASAP and accompanying documents by Friday, Feb. 10. The PSU Excellence Awards are one way that we celebrate the contributions, accomplishments and scholarship of our faculty and staff who advance our mission to “Let Knowledge Serve the City.”
Spread the word: Scholarship deadline is this week
There are hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship funds available for PSU students from all backgrounds and areas of study. Last year, PSU awarded $3.8 million in scholarships to students. Please encourage your students to apply – or finish their applications, if they’ve already started. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1. Students can apply through Scholarship Universe.
Did you participate in PSU-sponsored research last year? Your signature is needed ASAP
Salaried employees paid to work on PSU-sponsored projects at any time during July - December 2022 should have recently received a Personnel Activity Report (PAR) via AdobeSign in their inboxes with the subject line: Signature requested on Personnel Activity Report(s) for REVIEW/APPROVAL. PARs are critical to PSU's compliance with regulations governing sponsored projects and must be certified promptly. If you receive a PAR via email, please review and take action on the request as soon as possible. See PSU's Effort Reporting Policy for additional information.
Make the most of the Learning Center during midterms
Midterms are almost here! Set your students up for success by letting them know they can meet with an academic coach or peer tutor from the Learning Center to set goals and discuss study strategies. Learning Center services are free and open to all students. Faculty and staff can also submit a request for our ROADS to Success presentation series on topics such as motivation, time management, and study strategies to be presented in your classes.
Direct students to the PSU Writing Center for help
The PSU Writing Center is open for online and in-person appointments. We can help writers at any step in the process, from generating ideas to the final polish. Our website also has a variety of writing resources for students and instructors.
You’re invited to craft with Little Vikings
Your children are invited to do fun crafts with Little Vikings teachers, virtually and in person. These events are free and open to students, staff and faculty — registration is required. In-person events are Feb. 10 and March 10 in Cramer Hall. Virtual event is Feb. 24. If your children need materials, email lvikings@pdx.edu to make arrangements.
