Welcome Grow Serve Celebrate

Each Sunday we will look at a story in scripture of one who chose to Dive In and answer God’s call. We will reflect on the questions: How are we being called to be the church in this season? How might I Dive In to worship, service and spiritual formation at Parkway Hills? Small group posters will be posted and clipboards will be out for the next two months. How will you Dive In?

A reminder of our Sunday morning schedule is below. If you are still a little uneasy about attending worship, I encourage you to attend our 8:30 service. There are fewer people and you will have plenty of room to space out. Just a reminder, masks are required for all those under 12, all those not fully vaccinated, and anyone working with those under 12. We strongly encourage everyone, regardless of vaccination status to wear a mask indoors for now.

For those who are out-of-town, or any who still feel safer-at-home, we continue to livestream our service on Facebook at 10:45 am, and post the service on our YouTube channel by 11 am.

Sunday Morning Small Group Opportunities:

Grace Class: Meeting via Zoom at 9:30, however if you are at church, there is a group Zooming from church

Open Doors: Meeting via Zoom at 9:30

Renew: In person currently meeting in the Open Doors Room, first room on the right upstairs in the Education Building

Discovery Class: Meeting via Zoom.

The Zinnias are showing off! Thanks to our PHUMC children for planting the Zinnia Seeds for us all to enjoy!

PHUMC Youth are vital in livestreaming our Sunday Services.

Youth

Engage is our new name for our Sunday night youth activities, a great chance for students to engage and connect with their faith, church and community.

August 22: Engage begins for the 2021 school year, 5:30 to 7:00, dinner provided.

August 25: Water games night, 5:30-7:00, dinner provided

August 29: Regular Engage activities (Gathering Fall Tour at MMC has been cancelled.)

Engage is the new name for our Sunday night activities for PHUMC Youth

Our remodel contract was signed this week and Youth Kitchen construction starts soon!

READERS NEEDED We're disappointed we can't be in the classrooms of East Flora Elementary School this semester, but that doesn't mean we can't share the love of reading with our young friends! Allison Jordan is collecting names of those of you who will be willing to record yourselves reading a story aloud. The school librarian will keep the recordings, and be able to send them to classrooms as needed.

As of now we do not have requests for specific stories, so the possibilities are wide open! Think of a book you enjoyed as a child, or a story you would like to share with one now. (Janice Cate is creating a book list from which to choose if you are stumped.)
