Spring 2016 Final Exam Schedule

Spring 2016 Final exam schedules were posted to Portals back in March. Students are asked to double-check the schedule in order to determine whether or not they have a conflict. A conflict is defined as two exams scheduled at the same time or four exams scheduled in one day. Please report any conflicts to the Principal's Office.

As always, during final exam days, students are required to be present only during the times they have exams. It is always difficult to find alternative times to take final exams and often it has a detrimental effect on a student's performance on the exam. Therefore, we ask families to please make every effort to schedule around final exams so that all students are present at their assigned exam times.

If you have any questions about finals scheduling please contact Shani Simonson in the Principal's Office at ssimonson@brebeuf.org or 317.524.7131.

Student Spotlight

EVAN TURNER '16
Loves about Brebeuf:
I love the community vibe at Brebeuf Jesuit and I feel very comfortable at the school. Not only can I be myself, but others can express themselves freely as well. Brebeuf Jesuit is a place where we are not only accepted for who we are, but encouraged to be ourselves.
Favorite Class:
My favorite class was English 11 with Ms. Moore. I loved how even though we were reading books from a long time ago, she still made the material interesting and relevant to our lives now.
Future Plans:
I will be attending the University of South Carolina in the Fall to study public relations.
Teams & Co-Curriculars:
Volleyball Team
STRAP Club
Conservation Club
Admissions Ambassador
Random Fact:
My mom owns a store called Be The Boutique.
Is Brebeuf as academically rigorous as they say?
Yes, Brebeuf Jesuit is as academically rigorous as they say. Transitioning from middle school to high school was a challenge at first, but the teachers really helped me through the process. My freshman year I took honors English because I did well in middle school but it was very hard here. In the end I did very well because my teacher took the time to help me with the challenges. The teachers at Brebeuf Jesuit are always here to help and that makes the course load more manageable.
Would you rather…
Live in Antarctica or the Sahara Desert?
I would rather live in the Sahara Desert because I hate cold weather.
Have a pet unicorn or pet dragon?
I would rather have a pet dragon, specifically the dragon from Shrek.
Would you rather meet an alien or your favorite actor?
I would rather meet my favorite actor, Jennifer Aniston.
Go without junk food or TV (including Netflix) for the rest of your life?
I would rather go without junk food because I don’t eat that much junk food now.
Have the ability to fly or be in invisible?
I would rather be invisible because it would be fun to listen in on people’s conversations when they do not know you are there.

Filming for the Graduation Video - Friday is the Last Day

This Friday, May 13 is the final day of filming for the graduation video and there are still a number of seniors who have not yet signed up to participate. Please encourage your senior student to sign up if he or she has not already done so. Although participation in the video isn't mandatory, the goal as always is to have a full representation of the class!
This year, seniors have been invited to participate in the video by scheduling a time to be recorded on their breaks. Below is a link to the Google Form where students can sign up to be filmed in a 5-10 minute time slot at that day’s shooting location. Students have been sent information and requests to participate via their email accounts, Twitter, and hallway signage. More slots have also been added to Friday to ensure all who would like to participate have the opportunity.
Students have been emailed this link as well and are encouraged to contact us if they are unable to find a time that works for them.

Conservation Club E-Waste Drive

Do you have old phone chargers or an old toaster just sitting around taking up space?

Rather than throw it away, recycle it! Brebeuf’s Conservation Club will be hosting an e-waste drive next Thursday, May 19, from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. in the student parking lot. If it ever plugged in or had a battery, we can recycle it. This also includes old VHS tapes and CDs.

Below is a link with everything that the company will take.  Please note: If you plan to bring an old tube television or computer monitor (anything older than a flat screen) RecycleForce requests that you make a $10 donation to help offset the price of disposing of the tube. There will be student volunteers to help you unload your vehicle so that you can get in and out quickly.
