All students, faculty and staff are invited to join the national celebration of first-generation college students. The First-Gen Center is hosting a variety of events to spotlight first-gen students and celebrate their accomplishments from Tuesday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 9,, on main campus and on Thursday, Nov. 16 at Radford University Carilion (RUC) in Roanoke. Faculty and staff are encouraged to join our Radford first-gen students for networking and socializing on Nov. 9 at The Highlander hotel in Radford.

The Military Resource Center (MRC) of Radford University is planning a few recognition events in November for students, faculty, staff and administrators who are current service members or veterans of the United States military.
In preparation for these events, the MRC is in the process of compiling a slide show for Veterans Day and is also preparing a gift of appreciation for service members and veterans. The MRC is asking for your help in providing photos and service information. This information and the photos will help the MRC prepare the slide show and gifts for each of you.

Family Reads – An English Learning Program for Families
Tuesdays, Nov. 7, 14 and 28, from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m., Radford City Library
Radford students will volunteer to engage children in educational activities while
their parents improve their English language skills.
- Citizen Leader – Building Community
Sunday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Heth Hall, main campus
Members and interested students are invited to attend this session focusing on
supporting each other through the program.

Citizen Leaders for Tomorrow Club and the Citizen Leader Program Food Drive
Tuesday, 14, Hurlburt Student Center, main campus
Come by and donate food for those in need. Collection boxes will be located
around campus.

NEW Leadership® Virginia Virtual Information Session
Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m. (Register for this meeting before 15)
NEW Leadership® Virginia is a nonpartisan six-day residential summer program
that will take place from June 9 to 14, 2024, through the Gender and Policy (GAP)
Center at George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government in
Arlington, Virginia. This session will provide details on the program.

Come by and de-stress as you prepare for exams and final projects.

Center for Diversity and Inclusion Multicultural Congratulatory Ceremony |

All students, faculty and staff are invited by the Center for Diversity and Inclusion for the Multicultural Congratulatory Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 8.
This biannual tradition celebrates graduates and their cultures by presenting them with a stole of their choice to be donned by a love one or friend at Winter Commencement. This is an opportunity for graduates, family and friends to celebrate a joyous milestone.
