PSU Lobby Day is this Wednesday
Portland State faculty and staff are invited to advocate for funding from the state legislature this Wednesday, March 8. The annual PSU Lobby Day is a hybrid event, so you can join via Zoom or in person at the Simon Benson house on the PSU campus. You will have the opportunity to meet with state lawmakers and tell them why Oregon’s #1 university for social mobility budget and policy support. Training and preparation is provided, along with food and PSU swag at the in-person event. Register online for PSU Day at the Capitol.
Register for media training workshops this spring
Whether you've never worked with the media before or consider yourself a pro, there’s something for everyone at the PSU Media Training virtual series this spring. Sponsored by Research and Graduate Studies, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and University Communications, participants will learn best practices for media interviews, including how to prepare messages and message supports, and how to manage challenging questions. The virtual workshops are on April 28 and May 5. Register to participate!
Nominate a PSU student for a Presidential Award
Do you know a currently enrolled student leader who has made a significant impact at Portland State University or in the community? The General Student Affairs Committee and Office of Student Affairsare seeking nominations for the Presidential Awards through April 7. To learn more about the awards and submit a nomination, please visit the Presidential Awards website. Winners will receive their awards at SALP’s annual Leadership Awards Luncheon on May 12.
Play in the PSU employee pickleball tournament
All PSU faculty and staff are invited to celebrate the end of the term by competing in the 2nd annual Faculty/Staff Mixed Pickleball Doubles Tournament on Thursday, March 16 from 4-6 p.m. on the Rec Center third floor courts. Free for PSU faculty/staff; no Campus Rec membership required. Register by Tuesday, March 14 to reserve your spot. Get ready for the tournament by playing drop-in pickleball on Thursdays from 12-1 p.m.
