What is CARE up to?
Supplemental funding for Flu Vaccine promotion
CARE has received supplemental grant funding from the CDC, made available to all REACH (Racial & Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) grant recipients, to promote flu vaccinations to Black and Brown residents in New Haven. We are actively mobilizing our extensive community-based network to deliver a locally-tailored educational campaign to increase uptake of flu vaccinations, accompanied by a comprehensive effort to increase access to flu vaccines.
CDC Success Stories
As part of the REACH grant, we are required to create two success stories based on our REACH programs that have made the most notable impact in the New Haven community. This year, we focused on the important work that was done in mobilizing food pantry services during COVID-19, and the impact of active transportation on safety and chronic disease. Please view them here: Mobilizing Partners to Fight Hunger During the COVID-19 Crisis in New Haven and Following a Route to Safety.
We are always actively looking for faculty who are interested in working together with CARE on our community-based research. If you are interested in learning more about CARE and working with us, please contact our Director, Alycia Santilli.
