A quick social media break can be lethal for your focus. Delete your app for a day, mute your chats for a few hours and tell your family not to text you because you’re studying. They might text you anyway, but they’ll be really impressed. Enjoy the feeling of a few hours of uninterrupted work.
Procrastinating doesn’t mean you’re lazy
Think about why you don’t want to do what you’re putting off – maybe it’s boring, you don’t know where to start or you think you might not do a good job. Once you know why you’re avoiding something, it’s a lot easier to remember that just starting somewhere makes it way less scary.
Take care of yourself
Healthy food. Sleeping instead of scrolling. Water instead of drama. Even like 20 jumping jacks. You don’t have to make huge life changes to improve your focus, but thinking about your day-to-day choices can give you a boost, especially around big tests.
And no multi-tasking! Your big ol’ brain can do so much more when it does one thing at a time. Ole Miss loves you and you got this.
