| Creativity and History on Display at Advanced Game Development Final Showcase
Students in the Computer Science department's game development concentration presented their capstone projects in a final showcase on May 17th. The showcase was attended by local game studios, tech companies, UNO, and the general public. Led by Dr. Ben Samuel, the Advanced Game Development course simulates the working environment of a small game studio. Students pitch game prototypes, form teams, and hold production roles in a semester-long project. This year's showcase featured two games: "When Mom's Not Home" starring a mischievous cat left alone in a suburban home, and "General Strike: 1892", a strategy game which depicts a high-stakes labor movement from New Orleans' history.

Summer Research for COS Students |
The College is pleased to once again partner with our alumni to offer two esteemed summer research programs for our students.
Jonathan Schowalter (Junior – Physics) will participate in the UMass Chan Medical School Summer Undergraduate Research Program. Over a 10-week period, students in the program engage in a research project, attend lectures, participate in career development and networking sessions and work in weekly small group sessions in which they are instructed in written and oral scientific communication. At the end of the summer program, students present their research at a poster session open to the UMass Chan Medical School community. Thank you to alumnus Dr. Terence R. Flotte '82 for helping to offer this opportunity to UNO students.
