Pearson VUE Authorized Certification Center opens at The Hub |

The Radford University Division of Economic Development and Corporate Education has announced the official opening of the new Pearson VUE Authorized Certification Center in room 220 at The HUB at 1000 E. Main St. in Radford.
The center provides test takers with access to Pearson exams in a safe and secure testing environment with professional staff to assist test takers.

Over 60 IT and cybersecurity exams are offered to make certification testing more accessible for college students attending Radford, Virginia Tech and New River Community College, as well as incumbent workers in the New River Valley. A list of all available exams can be found on the Pearson VUE website.
Exams at the certification center are proctored Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with additional appointments available as needed. You can register online for exams.

The Radford University community is invited to join the Office of University Advancement at the naming ceremony for the Waldron College Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice on Thursday, March 27, at 10 a.m. in room 415 of the Artis Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity.
The center will be named in memory of the late Raymond N. Linville, who served Radford University from 1999 to 2016 as the chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the dean of the Waldron College of Health and Human Services.

Future of Talent Summit 2025 at the Artis Center on March 13 |

Workforce development strategies for Western Virginia, including talent attraction and retention, will be the focus of the second annual Future of Talent Summit on Thursday, March 13, from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Radford University’s Artis Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity.
This year’s theme is “Turning Data into Action."

It will underscore the role of data analytics in creating collaborative workforce development strategies and provide a framework for how data can be leveraged to drive talent attraction and retention efforts across the region.
The summit will include an employer panel, moderated by President Bret Danilowicz, that will feature executives and employers from GO Virginia Region 2 who are creating impactful talent development initiatives.
“This event is a valuable forum for ideas, actions and engagement to further understand our region’s present and future needs in the workforce,” Danilowicz said. “We look forward to telling our story and to helping build more meaningful connections during the summit.”

Radford’s Commercial Music Ensemble and the Department of Dance will bring Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” album alive in a one-of-a-kind performance. Played from “Thunder Road” all the way through “Jungleland,” you’ll experience the narrative power and musical might of this landmark album that features songs like “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out,” “Backstreets,” “She’s the One,” and of course, the title track. This show is free and open to everyone. Free parking on campus after 6 p.m.

- Erica Sipes: Piano Music, She Wrote
Monday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Davis Performance Hall of the Covington Center
Erica Sipes will present a program of music composed by women from around the globe throughout the past 300 years. Sipes is known internationally for her research and performance of the works of women composers. She’ll play and present stories and tidbits about these composers, many of whom are just now having their music heard by a wider audience. The concert is free and open to everyone.

Winesett Awards for Library Research: Submission portal now open |
The Winesett Awards for Library Research offer multiple $750 awards to students every spring. Up to two students in each of the lower, upper and graduate divisions will win, and up to eight finalists will also win $100 each. Let your students know about this opportunity and that the submission deadline is Monday, April 7, at noon.
The awards recognize original library research completed by Radford students. Projects from spring 2024 through draft versions produced in spring 2025 are eligible.
