Welcome     Grow     Serve    Celebrate

Welcome New Member
Judy Abendschein joined our family Sunday. Please extend your warm welcome to Judy. She told us that she looks forward to being a part of the Yarners Ministry, as she is a prolific knitter, and was so moved by the as-yet-to-be-given yarn blankets she saw in our office. She also looks forward to visiting adult Sunday School classes and getting to know our PHUMC family.
We are saddened, hurt, and disgusted by the act of hate against the Beth Israel community of faith. Hatred and violence only lead to more hate and more hurt.  We stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters offering our prayers, our hands, and our deep sorrow.  We give thanks for the times of welcome we have received with the many Confirmation classes over the years at Parkway Hills that have attended service at Beth Israel, and we commit to aiding them in their work to rebuild. If you have been looking for a way to respond, know that Parkway Hills' February Communion offering will be in support of Beth Israel.  We do best the things we do together especially when we choose to build bridges and focus on our shared humanity instead of drawing lines of separation and hate.
Twice a year the staff at Parkway Hills gathers with our church family for a time of conversation, dreaming and planning for the mission and ministry of our church. These days apart take place one Saturday in January and one Wednesday evening in May. Our Saturday morning apart is approaching and we hope to see you there. Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Garden Room from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. A light breakfast will be provided. Nursery available upon request.
Next Wednesday Night, January 21, Re:treat is back!
Come enjoy a spaghetti supper with your church family at 5:45 pm., and stay for intergenerational Table Talk at 6:20 pm. We'll mix it up so you can get to know your elders and youngers, and have fun, too.
Please reserve your space by clicking this link, calling the office, or placing the reservation strip from the Sunday's bulletin in the offering basket by noon on Sunday, January 18. Normally we take reservations until noon Monday, but the office will be closed on Monday for MLK holiday.
Sunday, January 25: Coffee with the Pastor at 9:30
Have you been visiting for a while and want to know a little bit more about Parkway Hills? Are you interested in joining our church family? Join Pastor Dawn in the Parlor for conversation.

It takes all of us working together to accomplish all of the great ministries at Parkway Hills.  We give thanks for all the ways this church supports our youth and encourages and equips our young people.  As a new year begins, we encourage you to find a way to get to know our youth. One easy way is to provide one of our Sunday night meals (the last Sunday of every month is our pizza night) or sign up to be an adult volunteer, or both! In order to provide a safe, welcoming space for our youth and adult volunteers, we must have at least two adults, not residing in the same household, present for every event.  Click the link and see if a date works for you.
We always need volunteers to aid with our kids' ministry. For more information about any of our kids' ministry events contact Jennifer.
*All volunteers must submit a background check before volunteering with children and youth.

In English, the phrase Becas con Bendiciones means “Scholarships with Blessings.” Our January Communion gifts will supply scholarships that provide the opportunity for education for children in Honduras.Though public school in Honduras is technically "free" to attend, there are uniform requirements, shoes, sports clothing for P.E. classes, matriculation fees, maintenance fees, and basic school supplies which put formal education out of the reach of many children. In January 2006 PHUMC's Wednesday night children's program studied United Methodist missions in Honduras, learning a little Spanish, sampling some Honduran foods, and discovering that kids in Honduras got only four or five years of schooling because their parents couldn't afford to pay for uniforms, school supplies, and fees. So our kids jumped in to help. They began collecting change at home and at church, made announcements to the congregation, decorated collection boxes for Wednesday night supper tables, and quickly raised $300 for "Scholarships with Blessings" to help kids in Honduras stay in school longer. Since that beginning in 2006, Parkway Hills has sponsored dozens of Honduran children. We receive thank-you letters and pictures from our sponsored kids every year, which you can view in the foyer of the worship center. They are so grateful for our support! Last year we provided 18 scholarships. A gift of $120 provides 100% of the school-related needs for a child in this program. Thank you for giving generously.
