Baccalaureate Sunday is Coming!
Baccalaureate Sunday is Coming!
                                                                         April 4, 2018
Thanks to the creativity and flair of Barbara Pepper and Ivy Renfroe, our "Living Cross" was a stunning addition to our Easter Worship!  Many thanks to all who came by to help and/or drop off flowers.
For Christians, Easter is not just ONE day, but rather a 50-DAY period! This extended season gives us time to rejoice and experience what it means when we say Christ is Risen!
Continue the celebration by sharing an Easter meal with your church family
TONIGHT at 5:30 pm.
Menu: Fried chicken, turnip greens, corn, mac'n'cheese, salad, fruit, cornbread/rolls, dessert, and tea. Kids Option: Pizza, lemonade and dessert.
We are so proud of all
of our graduates!
Please help us recognize them on

Baccalaureate Sunday
April 29th
If you are graduating from high school, college, or graduate school this May, (or if you know someone who is), please let us know so we may honor them for this accomplishment. We would also be happy to recognize any of your classmates who do not have their own church home. Everyone should be applauded and prayed for at this milestone!
We need all your information by April 16th.

Graduates will be recognized at the service they normally attend, (either 8:30 or 10:45), and all graduates and their families will be honored at a breakfast reception in the Youth Room during the Sunday School hour on April 29th.
The United Methodist Church has called a special session of our General Conference for February 23-26, 2019 in St. Louis, Missouri to deal specifically with the proposals coming from the Commission on the Way Forward formed at General Conference in 2016.
The Commission on the Way Forward has been gathering and engaging in prayerful discernment since their formation to listen for the Spirit’s leading with regard to the language within our Discipline around human sexuality. They should be releasing a report to the Council of Bishops in July of 2018. The Council of Bishops will use this report to structure our time together at General Conference in 2019.
Parkway Hills UMC will be offering opportunities for anyone to come and gain some education around the structure of the UMC, the work of General Conference and the Commission on the Way Forward, as well as ask any questions you may have about the upcoming called session or recent events within the Mississippi Conference of the UMC. Below are the opportunities being offered.
  • Wednesday, April 18th at 6 pm in The Garden Room
  • Sunday, April 22nd in The Garden Room immediately following the 10:45 worship service

    Thank you,
The Staff and Leadership of Parkway Hills UMC

WOW! Wasn't our Easter music wonderful? We are so grateful to all those who share their time and talent with us - on the piano, the keyboard or with their voices! Would you like to make the day of our Minister of Music? Send him an email to find out how YOU may add YOUR talent to our choir or instrumental team!
