NAR Clarifies REALTORS' Obligation to Present a True Picture

At the National Association of REALTORS Annual Meeting this month, the Board of Directors approved an amendment to Article 12; Standard of Practice 12-5 of the Code of Ethics. The amendment is designed to ensure that the obligation to present a true picture includes images and that misleading consumers through the use of misleading images is prohibited under Article 12. The change becomes effective with the publication of the revised Code of Ethics, January 1st. 2018. Read more.

Association Office Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

Please be advised that the Suburban West REALTORS Association office will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd and Friday, November 24th for the Thanksgiving holiday. Members needing assistance from the staff should contact the office prior to 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 22nd or consult the Association's website. The office will re-open on Monday, November 27th at 8:00am.

With the holiday season in full swing and a new year approaching, many are dealing with stress and worry in both their personal and professional lives. Unfortunately, this pressure can lead to health issues in the short and/or long term. Join the Association on December 13th (9:30am-11:00am) for Starbucks Morning: How Stress and Worry Can Effect Your Health as presenter Kathy Opperman will address some of the common stressors encountered by real estate professionals.  Kathy will also address tips for stress management and how to handle negative effects that worry can have on your health. Community Service/Charity Bulletin Board - Local Office to Serve as Toys-for-Tots Drop Off

Since September, Suburban West has hosted a page on its website to feature community service/charitable events and causes. The following event was recently posted:
Toys-for-Tots - Throughout the holiday season, the Wayne Realty office will serve as a drop-off point for Toys-for-Tots. They will be collecting new un-opened toys for Christmas gifts for less fortunate children and are asking that any new toys dropped off be left unwrapped. REALTOR Mary Giovanni adds that "We at Wayne Realty want to do our part to enhance a child's Christmas." Submitted by Mary Giovanni (610-687-5280).

Residents Tell Chester County Officials Where Future Growth Should Occur

When it comes to planning Chester County's future, there are many voices and viewpoints on ways to balance preservation with growth. That's why the Chester County Planning Commission recently conducted a public meeting about Landscapes3, the county's next long-range comprehensive plan.
In addition to a projected 55,000 new housing units in the next 30 years, a Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission report indicates there will be 146,000 new residents and 87,000 new jobs in the next three decades. Read more.
