Irrigation and Landscaping
At this time, residents of Crystal Canyon have irrigation water. Crews are currently testing lines throughout the rest of the community and homeowners should expect irrigation water to be accessible by next week.
Keep a look out for more details on the irrigation start up process in upcoming mailings.
As the sprinklers fire up, we want to send a kind reminder that mother nature has provided significant moisture to your lawn during early spring. Our mainlines also run much deeper than residential lines. Given the risk of freezing temperatures, we suggest that you delay pressurizing your lines at this time.
Fertilization and aeration is also underway. For up to date information and timelines for everything from weed mitigation/spraying to mowing schedules, please visit our updated landscaping page.

Clay Tennis Court Update
Spring is here and tennis is in the air (along with a little bit of snow)! The RVR maintenance crew has been working daily to get the clay courts ready for the season.
We are happy to share that courts two and three are now open for play! Courts four and five should be ready by next week.
For your planning, scheduled lessons will have priority on the courts, and social play will be available outside of those lessons.
We will continue to provide updates when additional courts are ready!

Green Tip | Earth Day
Saturday, April 22 is Earth Day and it was created to help bring support and awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations. April 22 is also the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and the Carbondale Police Department will be accepting prescription drugs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a convenient means of disposing of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs. Drugs should never be poured down the sink or flushed down the toilet as they can pass through the wastewater treatment system and enter rivers and streams. Even trace amounts of contaminants can hurt fish and other aquatic wildlife, and potentially end up in our drinking water.

Resist the Idle!
Please turn your vehicles off when collecting your mail at the Ranch House.
Many local and state governments have adopted legislation that limits vehicle idling to combat increasing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The Colorado Revised Statute 42-4-1206, more commonly known as the "puffer" law, allows law enforcement officers across the state to immediately ticket individuals who have left a vehicle running unattended for any period of time. To avoid excess emissions, turn off the ignition!

Did You Know? | RVR History Trail
| |
RVR is a special place and there are various details about the community that many may not be aware of. To help inform homeowners about all of RVR's unique features, we will run a "Did You Know" section each week in the newsletter.
What is the RVR History Trail?
In the Fall of 2021 The Carbondale Historical Society and River Valley Ranch got together to create the RVR History Trail. Gary Lesser, RVRMA Board President at the time, was instrumental in the projects inception and eventual creation. The trail (2.7 mile loop), is best experienced by walking or riding a bicycle. From Orchard Park, head west on Crystal Bridge Drive, and follow the navigation directions, which take you along Crystal Bridge, across North Bridge Drive, and along River Valley Ranch Drive. The History Trail ends at the RVR Ranch House, site of the tenth and final panel. Click here for a map of the trail.
The trail features ten panels that tell the story of how RVR evolved from being a home to the nomadic Ute Indian tribes of the 1400's, to the European settlers and homesteaders in the 1800's, to development of RVR homes and a golf course in the late 1990's.

No Parking on Grass
After a great winter with much precipitation, our softened sod and irrigation system underneath are much more susceptible to surface damage. Please be sure to advise your contractors, visitors and household members to stay off the grass when parking in RVR.
| |
Pet Reminder
We have received various comments from neighbors in the community concerning dogs that are allowed off leash.
As a reminder, dogs off leash are a violation of Carbondale Ordinances and the RVRMA HOA Covenants.
Carbondale P.D. will be regularly patrolling RVR neighborhoods, distributing warnings for dogs that are off leash.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter. We appreciate your efforts towards courteous pet ownership and helping to preserve the peaceful enjoyment of River Valley Ranch!

Deer Fencing
Due to lower elevation snow pack, we anticipate deer to migrate later in the season this year. The deer fencing removal deadline has been extended to Wednesday, May 31. You may remove fencing at any time, but must have it down and properly stored by the deadline.
