Dear Faculty, Administrators and Staff,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kurt W. Rotthoff, Ph.D., as the Interim Associate Provost for Strategy and Finance at Seton Hall University.
Rotthoff is a Professor in the Stillman School of Business and has been at Seton Hall since 2007. During that time, he has published 45 peer-reviewed papers in economics, where he specializes in applied microeconomics, financial economics and industrial organization – with a special interest in economics and finance in sports and the economics of education. He has won research and teaching awards and has been involved in many different committees across campus, including the Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate, Retirement Planning Committee, Undergraduate Education Policy Committee, Rank and Tenure and multiple strategic and budgetary planning committees.
In his new role, he will focus on academic administration in the areas of University policy, budget and finance, human resources and long-term strategies. Rotthoff will provide financial and budgetary oversight for all of the centers and units that report through the Provost's Office, including all of the colleges and schools of the University. He will also coordinate with the Department of Human Resources on employment policies and personnel matters for all academic areas, and he will work with the college and schools in assessing their hiring needs and coordinating their faculty hiring. Rotthoff focuses on using data-driven outcomes to assess projects for the strategic use of university resources.
Rotthoff has served as a special advisor to the provost for institutional effectiveness for the past two years. I am happy to have him contribute more to the office during this time of transition.
