Dear Faculty, Administrators and Staff,
|
We are pleased to open the Call for Applications for the Academies and Idea Hall initiatives! Both initiatives provide seed funding to develop or pilot innovative projects, with these key differences:
|
-
The Academies support initiatives within Academic Affairs, including projects that advance research, scholarship, interdisciplinary or international program development, mission-related programming, and other creative work.
-
The Idea Hall mechanism is open to all divisions, with a focus on projects that create or enhance student experiences and ultimately contribute to retention through collaborative projects between academic and non-academic divisions.

Linear Algebra as Modern Equation
|
Three Seton Hall professors from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science have collaborated to create the fourth edition of Linear Algebra: Algorithms, Applications and Techniques (Elsevier, 2023). Father Gabriel Costa, Professor John T. Saccoman, Ph.D., and Daniel Gross, Ph.D., are long-time collaborators in mathematics. Originally written in 1995 by Professor Richard Bronson, the updated Linear Algebra begins with concrete and computational explanations of linear algebra and then explains the major applications. The latest edition was updated with appendices on Jordan canonical forms and Markov chains.
