Dear Faculty, Administrators and Staff,
I would like to share that Dean of University Libraries and Associate Provost for Research and Innovation, John Buschman, M.A., D.L.S., will be stepping down from his decanal and administrative responsibilities and will begin a well-earned sabbatical July 1, 2026.
Since joining Seton Hall in July 2012, Dean Buschman has provided steady and visionary leadership of the University Libraries, guiding them through multiple system migrations, the challenges of the pandemic, and a period of significant restaffing and reorganization. He also led the launch of Research Data Services, further strengthening the University’s research infrastructure. Since assuming Associate Provost responsibilities in January 2021, he has overseen remarkable growth in the Office of Grants and Research Services, with annual applications increasing substantially through his tenure.
Prior to Seton Hall, Dean Buschman served as Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Research and Services at Georgetown University Library, and he has continued to contribute meaningfully to scholarship in his field throughout his administrative service.
I am grateful for Dean Buschman's service to Academic Affairs and to the University as a whole, and I wish him much success and a productive sabbatical.

Compliance in research projects is critical to ensure ethical standards, participant safety, data integrity, and adherence to legal regulations (federal, state, and institution).
