Nino Vashakidze ’13
Hometown: Tbilisi, Georgia
Majors: Economics and German
Minor: Studio Arts
Occupation: Deputy Director at Chirina Ltd.
What activities were you involved in while you were a student at Denison?
I primarily stayed focused on my studies as a student with a double major and a minor, but I always loved attending events organized by Denison Film Society (DFS), Denison International Student Association (DISA), and The Hilltoppers.
Since graduation, how have you stayed connected with Denison?
I’m getting ready to host my third Denison Everywhere event in Tbilisi next month! Even though organizing one of these events internationally presents unique challenges — for example, there are only a handful of alums in Georgia — Denison Everywhere gives us the opportunity to reconnect and take part in a celebrated school tradition.
What has been most rewarding about your volunteer experience?
I truly enjoy forming bonds with alums who love Denison just as much as I do. Even though The Hill is nearly 6,000 miles away, my volunteer experience helps me feel like it isn’t so far away.
What would you tell someone who is considering volunteering for Denison?
It’s a great excuse to put on your Denison gear and reminisce with alums. You’ll be glad you did.
What is your favorite Denison memory?
There are many fond memories, but walking up The Hill and seeing Swasey Chapel never gets old.
