Schwarzman Scholars Program Webinar
Monday, April 16 at 4:00 p.m., Online
The Schwarzman Scholars Program gives the world’s best and brightest students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through a one-year Master’s Degree in Global Affairs (taught in English) at Tsinghua University in Beijing – one of China’s most prestigious universities. 

Drawing on the best traditions of Tsinghua and top academic institutions around the world, the curriculum bridges the academic and professional worlds to educate students about leadership and about China's expanding role in the world. The program also provides Scholars with unparalleled learning opportunities with leaders from China and the world through high-level interactions at lectures, an internship program, a mentors network, and intensive deep-dive travel seminars.

Applicants can be citizens of any country and must be at least 18 but not yet 29 years of age as of August 1, 2019.

Upcoming Award Deadlines by College

All or Multiple Disciplines 
Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowships- Deadline: April 30. Five fellowships in the amount of $25,800 each will be awarded to young poets in the U.S. through a national competition sponsored by the Poetry Foundation, publisher of Poetry magazine. Applicants must reside in the U.S. or be U.S. citizens and must be at least 21 years of age and no older than 31 years of age as of April 30, 2018.

Byron Hanke Fellowship- Deadline: May 1. The Foundation for Community Association Research (FCAR) awards its Byron Hanke Fellowship to selected graduate students to implement research projects related to the development, management and governance of common interest communities and their community associations. The Hanke Fellowship stipends range from $3,000-$5,000 over one year, or as determined by the Foundation. 

Against the Grain Artistic Scholarship- Deadline: May 7. To provide financial assistance and promotion of Asian American college students pursuing a major in the performing, visual arts, journalism and/or mass communications.

FAO Schwarz Family Foundation Fellowship- Deadline: May 15. A two-year fellowship designed to strengthen high-quality non-profit organizations and to train recent college graduates to be tomorrow’s social impact leaders.

Native Student Travel Scholarship Program: Connecting Science to Crime and Justice- Deadline: May 18. Are you an American Indian or Alaska Native student who is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program AND are you interested in issues related to public safety, crime, and justice? Would you like to learn how your education can be used to solve complex issues in these fields? If so, the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) would like to help you explore science in criminal justice and public safety through conference scholarships!
Other Notable Opportunities
Public Service Weekend – Pepperdine University School of Public Policy- Deadline: May 7. Apply to attend this exciting weekend conference hosted by the Pepperdine School of Public Policy on its Malibu campus. You will learn from and network with prominent local officials and staffers, the private sector and non-profit executives, and other experts in the area of civic engagement and public leadership. Themes to be explored will include the following topics:
  • Evolution of civic engagement
  • Engaging the public in policy development
  • Risks and rewards of technology in civic engagement
  • How the government, private sector, and non-profit arena all play crucial roles in properly engaging the public
  • Applying to graduate school
This weekend conference seeks applicants who are currently enrolled or recent graduates of bachelor degree programs who are motivated to become the next generation of policy leaders. Only 40 spots are available! Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, a legal permanent resident, or qualify for the DREAM Act. Undergraduate sophomores through recent graduates (1 year) at a 2 or 4-year college/university with interest in the public sector.  Traditionally underrepresented students are encouraged to apply.  All Majors Welcomed!
