Harvest Festival

Sat–Sun, Oct 8–9, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Berkshire Botanical Garden's 87th annual Harvest Festival features continuous live music and entertainment, local and artisan food and refreshments, a clothing and accessories sale, plant sale, regional vendors, a farmers market, pony and hayrides, hay jump, a haunted house, and more. Admission is $10; kids under 12 are free. Harvest Festival wristbands can be pre-purchased at the Garden’s Visitor Center through Oct. 7. Author Talk

Letty Cottin Pogrebin will be in conversation with André Bernard at the Stockbridge Library. A founding editor and writer for Ms. Magazine, Pogrebin is also the author of 12 books: 10 nonfiction and two novels, including the recently released Shanda: A Memoir of Shame and Secrecy. A leader in many social justice causes, Pogrebin served two terms as president of The Authors Guild and two terms as chair of the Board of Americans for Peace Now. Harvest Concert

Sun Oct 9, 4–6 p.m.
The West Stockbridge Chamber Players will perform at Old Town Hall in a program featuring artistic director Catherine Hudgins on clarinet (above, photo by Tiziana Rozzo), Linda Toote on flute, Sheila Fiekowsky on violin, Daniel Getz on viola, and Alexandre Lecarme on cello. This is a benefit for the West Stockbridge Historical Society. More info

Indigenous People's Day Events

Sat–Mon, Oct 8–10
Fifteen tribal nations will join a celebration of Native American culture. On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., multiple speakers will talk at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center on "Honoring Native America." On Sunday, there will be an Indigenous Voices Panel at Kripalu in Lenox. And on Monday, a ceremonial walk begins at the Gazebo behind Town Hall in Great Barrington. Film Screening

Sat Oct 8, 6–7:30 p.m.
The Clark will screen Timeless, a new film by poetic research unit Shanzhai Lyric, filmmaker Solveig Qu Suess, and artist Yi Xin Tong. It explores shanzhai, the Chinese term for "counterfeit" and "mountain hamlet." The film's U.S. debut is in conjunction with the exhibition MeanderMore info

Grace Kelly

Sun Oct 9, 7 p.m.
Berkshires Jazz presents Grace Kelly and the UConn Jazz Ensemble at the Stationery Factory in Dalton. Kelly, a singer-saxophonist-songwriter-composer and band leader, has rocked the jazz world with sold-out concerts, 14 albums, and a resumé that includes performing at the Hollywood Bowl and being part of the house band for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” She takes a break from her band’s 28-city album tour for a one-time concert in the Berkshires. More info
