Up next: a new landscaped median along Beaver Ruin Road that will bring even more beauty to one of our key corridors. And thanks to strong partnerships—with groups like Georgia Power, Gibson Landscape and the Gwinnett Chamber—we're continuing to enhance infrastructure, promote safety and support the businesses that drive our region forward.
Whether you’re expanding, relocating or launching something new, Gateway85 CID is the place to grow. Keep reading to learn more about what we’ve been up to, and don’t hesitate to reply to this email if we can help your business thrive!

As one of Georgia’s largest business hubs, Gateway85 CID is home to more than 1,800 businesses that drive economic growth, logistics and development in the metro Atlanta region. However, recent shifts in federal trade, infrastructure funding and labor policies are raising concerns about rising costs, project delays and business uncertainty for companies operating in this critical corridor.
In response, Gateway85 CID has compiled an analysis outlining key federal actions and their potential impact on the region’s economy. The memo, developed to inform business owners, policymakers and regional stakeholders, aggregates concerns from the district’s industries and highlights the challenges facing Georgia’s logistics and commercial sectors.

Gateway85 was proud to present the Gwinnett Chamber’s Congressional Welcome Luncheon, bringing together U.S. Representatives Andrew Clyde (GA-09) and Hank Johnson (GA-04) for a meaningful discussion on the issues shaping Gwinnett’s business community.
Held on March 18 at Eagle Rock Distributing Company, the event provided a platform for both Congressmen to discuss topics such as infrastructure improvements along the I-85 corridor, workforce stability and how federal policy can support regional economic growth. While their opinions differed, their shared commitment to public service and mutual respect offered a refreshing example of civil discourse in today’s political landscape.
Gateway85 is proud to support events like this that encourage open dialogue and collaboration across perspectives—critical ingredients for driving progress in Gwinnett and beyond!

Beautifying Beaver Ruin Road
Gateway85 CID is continuing its mission to enhance and beautify the district with a new landscape improvement project along Beaver Ruin Road. This transformation will convert a quarter mile stretch of concrete median—from Park Drive to Steve Reynolds Boulevard—into a vibrant, landscaped corridor. The redesigned median will feature a mix of plants, including natural grasses, purple loropetalum and holly, creating a more welcoming and visually appealing gateway for businesses and visitors. See the rendering below.

Beaver Ruin Creek Cleanup
Last month, we shared details about Gateway85 CID’s efforts to clean up Beaver Ruin Creek under Indian Trail Boulevard—and we’re excited to report on the progress. The cleanup was a major success, with 194 bags of trash, 9 tires and 2 shopping carts removed from the site! This transformation not only improves the area visually but also lays groundwork for a future pedestrian trail.
In partnership with Gwinnett County, the CID is helping to turn this space into a cleaner, safer and more accessible community amenity. Check out the before and after progress!

Governor Brian Kemp’s proposed tort reform legislation, introduced in Senate Bill 68, is now heading back to his desk after passing both chambers of the Georgia General Assembly. The House approved the measure following its earlier passage in the Senate with a 33-21 vote.
The bill seeks to cap large jury awards in civil lawsuits, a move supporters say will help reduce soaring insurance premiums and protect Georgia businesses from the financial strain of costly litigation. Backers argue that the reforms are essential to improving the state’s legal climate and fostering economic growth. However, critics contend that such reforms disproportionately favor corporations and insurance companies, potentially hindering justice for individuals harmed by negligence or misconduct.
With the legislative session set to end on April 4, Governor Kemp is expected to sign the bill into law, marking a significant shift in Georgia’s civil litigation landscape.
