Celebrating Connection and Possibility
|
As we head into the season of giving, we’re celebrating the connections, learning, and shared experiences that bring people together. At the same time, we know not everyone has the resources they need to live fully, reminding us why it matters that comprehensive supports are available for all Oregonians. This season, each of us has a role in strengthening our communities. By engaging with neighbors, sharing what we can, and looking out for one another, we help make longer life an opportunity for all.

AGE+ Receives Grants to Strengthen Programming
|
AGE+ is grateful to receive $40,000 from the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation and $15,000 from the Reser Family Foundation. These generous grants will advance our mission to help older Oregonians thrive and belong.
The Reser Family Foundation grant benefits Circles of Care, our volunteer-driven mutual aid program in which older adults receive help and share their own skills and experience. Expansion in Talent will further enable aging in community.
The Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation grant benefits our general operations, including further expansion of Circles of Care, growing digital literacy training in five rural areas (equipping 1,600 older adults with digital skills), and strengthening our leadership and advocacy.

AGE+ is Sharing the Vision for Oregon’s Aging Future
|
This fall, AGE+ brought its expertise to several key events, including the Oregon Rural Health Conference, the Oregon Geriatrics Society Annual Conference, the Democratic Party of Oregon’s Biennial Summit, and the Oregon Housing Conference, emphasizing the need to plan for Oregon’s aging population. Through keynote addresses, moderated sessions, and conversations with state and local leaders, attendees explored ways to strengthen rural care, coordinate aging services, and address housing and ageism challenges.
These conversations are shaping a vision for an Oregon where longer life is valued. Invite AGE+ to speak to your organization or community group about digital equity, housing, ageism education, and other important issues affecting older adults. Contact Beth Mitchell at bmitchell@ageplus.org.
