SCHEDULE AN ADVISING APPOINTMENT BY JUNE 15
JUNE 5, 2018
Hello BFA Students!
Congratulations on your acceptance and decision to join the SMFA at Tufts University! I’m Leah Gadd, your Associate Dean of Undergraduate Advising. I oversee the academic life of all undergraduate students on the SMFA campus and serve as the primary academic advisor for BFA students. I’m writing today to ask you to schedule an appointment to speak with me this summer (either in person or virtually) to discuss your degree requirements and course selection for the fall.
Before we have our appointment this summer, please also complete the following 4 steps related to advising, course selection, and your academic program:
  1. Review the studio course offerings available to you through the Course Search option on SIS. Select the BFA Studio Art attribute, and have 2 - 4 studio course options in mind when we meet for you advising appointment.
  2. Familiarize yourself with the SMFA faculty and their work.
  3. Familiarize yourself with your program requirements.
  4. Choose one work of art that you have made to discuss at your advising appointment. Please send an image (JPEG) to Leah.Gadd@tufts.edu in advance of your advising appointment.
Once you arrive on campus in late August, you will finalize your course registration as part of Orientation.
I’m really looking forward to speaking this summer and working with you when you arrive on campus this fall. Be in touch with me at any point if I can answer a question for you – and remember to ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!
Best,

Leah Gadd
Associate Dean of Undergraduate Advising, SMFA at Tufts
