Winter weather advisory

Dear Student,

The weather forecast predicts significant snow and ice for our area starting Saturday evening and lasting through much of Sunday. I hope you will enjoy the snow following the storm, but while it passes take precautions and avoid travel as it is expected to be difficult to impossible and potentially dangerous. We encourage you to stay indoors as much as possible during the storm.

Whether you live on or off campus, stock up on your favorite food and snacks today so that you can ride out the storm in comfort.

Campus Center, Dining, and Tisch Library Updates

Mayer Campus Center Hours
- Saturday, February 15: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., No Late-Night Dining,
  Commons 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sunday, February 16: 12 noon – 12 a.m., Commons 12 noon – 10 p.m.
- Monday, February 17: 10 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Mayer Campus Center Commons Marketplace will open at noon on Sunday to allow extra time for snow removal.
Students with Tufts Dining Plans should look for messages on the Dining app. Carmichael will open at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Dewick will open for brunch at 11 a.m.
Tisch Library announcements about hours will be posted on the Tisch home page.

Shuttle Service

There are no plans to stop running the campus shuttles, but students should check the Parking & Shuttles Advisories page for the latest information. You may also check the MBTA train and bus schedules for the T’s hours of operation.

Parking Ban

A snow emergency parking ban will be in effect on the Medford/Somerville campus from 8 p.m. on Saturday. Notification will be sent by email to all parking permit holders when the ban is lifted on Sunday.

If you park on the Medford/Somerville campus, please ensure your vehicle is not parked in any surface lot or on-street parking space during the ban to allow Facilities Services to clear snow.

Vehicles left on surface parking lots and on street campus parking spaces are subject to ticketing and towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.

During these hours, you may park in the Dowling Garage or Lower Campus Garage. Parking permits are still required during parking bans.
