All Our Kin: Ecologies of Justice in Colombia

2016 marked the official end of the Columbian Conflict, the longest armed conflict in the Western Hemisphere. On Thursday, March 30, at 12 noon–1 p.m., join Dr. Kimberly Theidon of The Fletcher School as she discusses the effect the conflict has had on the Atrato River and the Afro-Colombian, Indigenous, and peasant communities of Urabá. This event is part of Tufts Environmental Studies' weekly environmental lectures. This is a hybrid event taking place in the Curtis Hall Multipurpose Room; register for the webinar.

Reproductive Freedom in the Wake of Dobbs

At the Experimental College's first-ever event exploring reproductive rights, hear from lawyers, healthcare providers, and educators in a panel format, and stay after to chat with organizations and advocacy groups from Tufts and the greater Boston area. Maya Deren, Choreographed for Camera Book Talk and Screening

Mark Alice Durant, author of Maya Deren, Choreographed for Camera, is the premiere Maya Deren biographer. His work, based on years of research and interviews with Deren's closest collaborators, explores the complexities and contradictions in the life and work of this remarkable and charismatic artist. Join us on Thursday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. for a talk about his newly published book on Deren's remarkable life and work, which will focus on her experimental short dance films.

Unpacking Climate Stress

Have you ever experienced stress about climate change? Do you love free plants? On Friday, March 31, at 1 p.m. in Mugar Hall Room 231, join the Eco Reps and Mental Health Reps for free spider plants and discussion on how we, as youth, can deal with climate stress.

Academic Reminders

The Advising Period begins March 27! To prepare for registration:
  • Make an appointment with your advisor to select classes and have your advising hold lifted
  • View your registration time in SIS and confirm you have no other registration holds
  • Add courses and backup options to your shopping cart
  • Validate to confirm you meet course requirements
  • Attend Engineering or A&S Advising Drop-ins for more support
Reminder: The deadline to apply for internal transfer from SOE to A&S is April 1. Internal transfer applications for A&S to SOE are accepted on a rolling basis; however, priority is given to applications submitted by March 31. Applications submitted from April 1 through April 19 will not be processed until after the registration period in April.

Transform Medford Square

The City of Medford is exploring redevelopment options for three municipal parking lots in Medford Square and wants to hear from the Tufts community! Please join for a virtual public forum to learn more about the efforts to transform Medford Square. The Virtual Forum on Transforming Medford Square will be on March 30 at 6 p.m.
