Javon Jones Springs into Action for Travelers
Javon Jones with Hudson News was nominated by a Port of Portland employee:
"Javon is a constant reflection of the PDX People values, and in one case, he truly went above and beyond.
Javon noticed a passenger who looked distressed and lost. After inquiring if they needed any assistance, he learned the passenger could not find their gate. Since boarding for the flight was almost complete, Javon dropped what he was doing and jumped into action, identifying which gate the passenger needed, literally running with the passenger to where they needed to be, and making it just as the airline crew was preparing to close the door.
A trip-saving move for that passenger was just another day for Javon, who then proceeded to get right back to work at PDX. Great job Javon, and way to go above and beyond!"

How Locals Made PDX the Local-est Airport Yet
100% local shops and restaurants. Wood for the roof thoughtfully sourced from forests within a day’s drive. Partnerships with local tribes and sustainable forestry pros. That’s only the start of the story of how people from around the Pacific Northwest came together to make the new spaces at PDX even more of a reflection of our region. It all began when the main terminal needed an upgrade to welcome travelers for another 50 years. We wondered, could we work with locals to make our local airport even more local than it already felt? So we set out to regionally source almost everything from the timber in the roof to the new shops filling the more expansive spaces. And like a lot of good things around here, it all began in the great outdoors.

TriMet bus at night.
TriMet Shifts to Late Night Bus Service
If you ride TriMet MAX Blue, Orange, Red or Yellow Lines, here’s what you need to know: Starting Sunday, Aug. 25, buses will serve the last few trips of the service day for MAX lines, beginning at or near midnight.
Providing late-night trips on buses instead of trains allow TriMet to complete more overnight maintenance projects on the light rail system and reduce unplanned service disruptions, as well as multi-day disruptions for improvement projects. This will help provide more reliable MAX service for riders – read more about the change.

Guess Who’s Coming to PDX!?
The final video in our series about the concessions coming to PDX highlights one that makes make PDX a whole lot sweeter. Here’s a hint: They’re up early, crafting donuts from an 18-hour brioche dough and using only the finest local, seasonal ingredients. With 14 irresistible flavors – think Blueberry Bourbon Basil and Orange Olive Oil – they’ll be frying them fresh every day at their new PDX shop. The daily Blue Star Donut party starts NOW!
