Welcome - the Office of Faculty Affairs is so excited you are joining us! You may already know your way around KU, or you may still be wondering what a Jayhawk is. Either way, there are plenty of helpful people and offices (including ours) that are more than happy to help you with any and all questions you have as you begin your journey as a KU faculty member.

You will be hearing from us over the summer as we share small steps you can take to ensure you are set up for success in your first semester. We will share opportunities to connect and learn in the months leading up to our main event: New Faculty Orientation. Go ahead and save the date for that below!

Each week this summer, we will share a bit more about our office and when/how you might interact with us during your faculty journey. One of our main initiatives is providing opportunities for faculty growth and development through our programming. All of our faculty development programming can be found on our faculty development and growth page. While this programming is available to faculty in various career stages, our New Faculty programming is created with you in mind! You can find programming specific to New Faculty on our New Faculty page, and below. We will continue to highlight programming that's relevant to you throughout the summer in this weekly newsletter.

Save the date for New Faculty Orientation:
August 17 & 18!

Our New Faculty Orientation for full-time faculty takes place over two days and serves as an opportunity to hear from campus leaders; learn more about KU’s students; and become acquainted with key units that support teaching and research, provide course design resources, help with grant writing and funding, and foster professional development. Most importantly, New Faculty Orientation will provide you with a chance to connect with each other. 

Additionally, we are hosting a New Faculty Orientation campus tour on the Wednesday morning (Aug. 19). Join us for coffee and donuts, and a guided tour to learn more about our beautiful campus.
