Early Oct I looked at the weather in Aspen, Colorado and only saw days in the mid 20’s with full sunshine…..so I thought, this could be my last big ride this year.
I loaded up my 2023 Triumph Scrambler XC (my 3rd Triumph from M & M), and was off before the weather could change my plans.

I simply could not resist one more epic adventure before the temperature dropped. What a machine my Scrambler is! Luv this naked bike.
I rode a few great loops this year. However, I capped off the year with this grand finale 7,000 km adventure from Kelowna to the US, through 8 States in 11 days. I highly recommend this journey to anyone looking to satisfy their sense for exploration.

National Parks and Classic locales |
After leaving Spokane, WA, I decided it was time to journey off road and take in the beautiful fall colours that the back country offers.
I was headed for Aspen but had Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole Wyoming on my itinerary which included traveling gravel roads along route 420 and coming out in Aspen.

As I made my way toward L.A., I naturally had to stop in Las Vegas and Red Rock National Park. If you have never been, it is worth visiting (not Vegas but Red Rock!). The best part of motorcycling is meeting people from all over. You ride in on a bike, the conversation is always as interesting as the rider and their ride.

You may be familiar with the Bike Shed Moto Co. There are several around the globe and, as luck would have it, there is one in Los Angeles. It is an iconic place where motorcyclists gather, shop, eat, and share community. Check out their website and it will be added to your list of places to check out.

"Since 2011, the Bike Shed has been a place of Common Ground, where people from all walks of life come together to share their passion for two-wheels, whether they ride a motorcycle or not.
For the People who love Motorcycles, and the People who love People who love Motorcycles.
Leave your differences at the door to enjoy an inclusive, welcoming space, whoever you are and wherever you come from."

Upon leaving L.A., the Pacific Coast Highway is a riding favourite. Big Sur National Park is beautiful. The weather changes in an instant, the rolling waves crash against the rocks and the sea lions inspire a nap! The best twisty section is in Northern California, between Hardy and Leggett. This is 41 thrilling minutes of bends and curves. From there, make your way through the Redwood Forest and Oregon.

I wound out my trip with some stand up dirt riding along the KVR back home. If you love riding - this is a great trip. I spent 10 - 14 hours each day on the bike for 11 days straight. I love it! Of note to share with you is I am super impressed with my Metzeler Tourance tires! Finally, after 18,309 km, they need a change.
My front tire is still somewhat decent, but there will be no more adventure for the back tire.
Looking forward to riding again!
Michel
