Welcome to the next exciting chapter of your benefits journey! As the University of Houston–Victoria transitions to Texas A&M University–Victoria (TAMUV), we are thrilled to take this important step together with you.

We are dedicated to ensuring this transition is as smooth and supportive as possible for you. This message includes vital information, so please read it carefully and completely.

From August 4 to August 7 we are hosting the official onboarding and benefit enrollment sessions for all current, benefit-eligible UHV employees.

• These important sessions guide you through your transition to The Texas A&M University System and will help you complete essential onboarding steps within Workday and enroll in your benefits.
• Due to limited space, you must register to attend a session in advance.
• Additional information is below, including what you need to bring to the session.

Additionally, you are invited to attend the A&M System Benefits Fair on Tuesday, August 5.

• This is a wonderful opportunity to meet benefits vendors and get answers to any questions you have.

To ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding and benefits election process, please bring the following:

• I-9 Documentation – You can find Please bring your acceptable forms of ID with you.
  • You will receive an email from Guardian containing instructions to complete Section 1 of the Federal Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Please be sure to regularly monitor your email for this important message.
  • We strongly recommend that you complete Section 1 before your scheduled onboarding session.
  • Section 2 will be completed in person at the I-9 desk during your onboarding process.
• Dependent Documentation – If you need to enroll eligible dependents in benefits,  bring:
  • The appropriate dependent documentation based on relationship type (e.g., birth certificates, marriage certificates).
  • Your dependent’s date of birth.
  • Your dependent’s social security number.
  • Refer to page 7 of the Employee Benefit Guide for details.
• Account & Routing numbers – To enroll in direct deposit for payroll and expense reimbursement payments

Important Deadlines

All benefit elections and onboarding tasks must be completed by August 8, 2025, to ensure coverage is effective September 1, 2025.  Incomplete onboarding, missing dependent documentation or incomplete benefit elections may result in delayed access to benefits.

If you are unable to attend an onboarding session to complete your I-9 and banking information, please email the TAMUV HR Office immediately, or call them at 361.570.4801.
