The Local Government Insurance Pool has released the August 2016 edition of Safety Talk.  This issue focuses on heat related illnesses and how to avoid them and protect workers.  To read the full issue, click here. 

There will be seven Jail Liability Seminars held in September and October.  This six hour seminar will provide attendees with a better understanding of the issues facing today's jails and provide them with tools to prevent possible liability issues.  Click here for more information.  
The TN Department of Environment and Conservation offers several grant opportunities to local governments.  Grants are available for the purchase of recycling equipment, used oil collection, recycling rebates, recreation trails, local parks and recreation acquisition, as well as clean energy grants.  There are numerous grants available to local governments.  Click here to learn more.    
The National Association of Counties hosted a webinar entitled "Saving Lives through Local Road Safety Planning" on June 30th.  This webinar focused on how Local Road Safety Plans can benefit counties and improve the safety of citizens.  To watch the recording of this webinar, click here.
