Making a Difference in a Student's Life
Jared Kligerman (MBA ’11) calls Schulich “the secret sauce” to the success of his career, and he generously gives back to his alma mater through volunteering in the alumni mentorship program and by establishing the Jared Kligerman MBA/IMBA Award. For Jared, paying it forward to his alma mater was an easy decision. “Many of us received bursaries, awards or scholarships, typically funded by alumni, and I feel it’s only fitting that we return the favour for the next generation.”
The Award is bestowed upon a graduating MBA/IMBA student to get a jump start in their career while minimizing the financial constraints faced by many students. This year’s recipient Bita Ghiasi (JD/MBA ’19), graduated at the top of her class and couldn’t be any more grateful for receiving the Award. “It is extremely rewarding to be recognized at the end of my program for working hard. Financially, this award has also helped me considering the costly nature of higher education, especially for those trying to fund their education independently.” To learn how you can make a difference in a student’s life, please contact Sara Ly, Associate Director, Major Gifts and Campaign at 416-650-8075 or sly@schulich.yorku.ca.
